Sports massage uses firm, therapeutic pressure and should feel intense in tight or restricted areas — but it should never feel unbearable. Your therapist will check in throughout and adjust based on your feedback. The goal is productive discomfort that produces real results, not pain for its own sake.

It depends on your training load. Athletes in heavy training often benefit from every 2–3 weeks. Those using massage for maintenance and injury prevention typically find monthly sessions effective. Your therapist can recommend a schedule based on your specific situation.

Both have value but serve different purposes. Pre-event massage focuses on activating muscles and improving circulation without causing soreness — usually lighter and shorter. Post-event massage focuses on flushing metabolic waste and reducing inflammation — typically deeper and more comprehensive. We recommend booking post-event within 24–48 hours for best results.

Deep tissue massage focuses on releasing chronic tension and adhesions throughout the body using sustained deep pressure. Sports massage is more functionally focused — it targets the specific muscle groups and movement patterns stressed by your sport, incorporates stretching components, and is designed around performance and recovery goals. There is significant overlap, and your therapist may use both approaches within a single session.

We recommend resting for at least 24 hours after a deep sports massage session. Your muscles have been worked therapeutically and need time to recover and respond. Light activity like walking is fine, but avoid intense training immediately after.

Wear comfortable athletic clothing or arrive in whatever you're comfortable in. You will undress to your level of comfort during the session and will be properly draped throughout. Most athletic clients undress fully or to their underwear — whatever allows your therapist to work effectively.

Yes — cupping is available as an add-on to any sports massage session. It is particularly effective for deep-seated tension in the back, shoulders, IT band, and calves. Just mention it when you book and we will incorporate it into your session.

We recommend booking 3–5 days in advance, especially for weekend appointments. If you are booking around a specific event or race, book as early as possible to secure your preferred timing.
